East Jakarta Health Sub-dept Head, Iwan Kurniawan disclosed, HPV immunization is a national program. His sub-dept has instructed puskesmas to record again about the number of fifth grade elementary students or equal. It is coordinated with East Jakarta Education Sub-dept for Region 1 and 2.

"Human sources and immunization is prepared in accordance with the needs. Certain stock of immunization is safe and all students can be served," he disclosed, Tuesday (10/4).

He targets, such immunization is targeted to be complete by the end of October. 

He explains, children immunization is in form of immunization injections and adult through IVA test. IVA test can be done in each sub-district puskesmas.

"HPV vaccination is very important for children thus can be free from cervical cancer. Immunization will be done for fifth grade student," he stated.

Based on the data from the 2012 Globocan data, the estimation of cervical cancer in Indonesia is the highest in Southeast Asia with incidence 20,928 and mortality 9,498. Hence, there must be a special program to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
